archetypes

Taking advantage of one of our city's many resources: the public library.

Primarily looking for information on archetypes in literature for an Artshop collaboration but making sure to browse the dvds and stop by the espresso bar for an iced americano before calling it a day.

So far, I'm heading home with The Hero and The Outlaw: Building Extraordinary Brands Through the Power of Archetypes and C.G. Jung's The Symbolic Life.

We've got some interesting reading ahead of us.

Oh, and Happy March to all. 2012 is breezing by.

sidenote: the gentleman sitting across from me (Don O'Leary? he answered his cell phone) is sucking on a whole tomato. Creating a delectable soundtrack (as you can imagine) for the entire library to enjoy.

HANDSworkshop recently had the pleasure of collaborating with the Harvest Cafe of Montour Falls, New York to create a word-of-mouth marketing strategy for the first Backyard Brewfest in Northern Appalachia. Printwork below.

If you're in the area, do plan to attend. It's going to be good.

haussman in the seventh

At artshop, we just received a lovely photo (below) from photographer Alice Gao, who recently purchased one of our prints:

haussman in the seventh

After a tiny bit of research, I found her lovely blog lingered upon. I love this bedroom.

bureau d'action

Inspired by the ideas of early Herman Miller Action Office systems:

astoria as inspiration

An 18x24 black and white print for the home office that reads: this is an ACTION OFFICE.

That's right. Action.

january

month one, january

Printed prototype for month one of the new twenty-twelve calendar. Astoria color-wash print (available soon in Artshop) with plenty of space to fill in holidays, birthdays, and personal notes.

project one

snowflakes and blackbirds, from my window

There is still snow on the ground, light flurries in the air. The streets are quiet. Seattle seems to shut down when the snow falls.

What's the plan for the daily made? First a late morning coffee, then snow-shoeing to downtown for lunch. Order packaging for HANDSworkshop, and finally today's project: a twenty-twelve calendar. Sixteen days into the calendar year, I am determined to replace the outdated December hanging on my wall.
